Tendar is an AR mobile game where players feed a virtual pet fish a well-balanced diet of laughter, surprise, and tears.

Bring Guppy out of its virtual fishbowl and into the real world. Guppy will learn and evolve based on player's facial expressions and social interactions. It can recognize and respond to over 200 objects, building up knowledge as it interacts more and more with the real world. Watch as Guppy takes stock of it's newfound knowledge to evolve from a non-verbal AI to a unique creature with its own personality!

My Role

I worked as the primary artist on this Google-sponsored, commercially released mobile AR game. Given that the Tendar team was very small (where at most, three people would be working on the project at the same time), my role was highly collaborative and broad, where I got work on many aspects of the game.

I designed and created a large majority of the game's final 3D and 2D art. My role included designing, modeling, rigging, and animating all body and facial performances for Guppy, designing and creating over 200 props, 30 accessories, and 150 vector illustrations in under a month, implementing various assets and animations using proprietary tools in Unity, and taking fish tank environments from concept art and graybox to completion (modeling, texturing, lighting, and implementing in engine.) Additionally, I collaborated with teammates to design the user experience and user interface for many features, with consideration to the affordances of mobile AR.
