Sankofa

Sankofa is a first person narrative adventure game that brings awareness to the Akan people and their rich culture, aiming to bring an understanding of history not regularly covered in standard education.

My Contributions as Game Design Intern

  • Used extensive research on 18th century Ghana and consult historians to create levels and environments.

  • Designed and created several stylized 3D props using 3DS Max and Substance Painter.

  • Coordinated with project leads and teammates to collaborate and meet weekly deadlines.

The Fort: Elmina

The Fort: Elmina is a 3D virrtual reconstruction of Elmina Castle, a community on the southern coast of Ghana that was once an epicenter for the Atlantic slave trade.

Meticulously modeled from Elmina's blue prints, buildings, and historical artifacts, the game seeks to provide an accurate visualization of life on West African coasts. The project has been showcased at a collection of history museums.

 

My Contributions as Game Design Intern

  • Created semi-realistic props based off artifacts and research on 18th century Elmina Castle.

  • UV unwrapped and textured props to populate various rooms within the fort.
